See why Kruja Castle, which survived three sieges from Ottoman invaders, earned a place on the Albanian 1,000 lekë banknote. Inside the fortress' ancient walls is the National Skanderbeg Museum, where you will find artifacts from the battles fought just outside its walls. Although there is a small fee for the museum, there is no entrance fee to enter the castle's walls and it does not take long to tour. A traditional bazaar near the attraction offers you a chance to treasure hunt among merchant's stalls and blankets. Beautiful medieval castle! The old bazaar right before getting to the castle is really impressive as well. Narrow little streets are really picturesque and full of vendors selling all kinds of souvenirs.
