Head to Laguna de Mucubaji, a "kettle lake" formed by retreating glaciers that sits 3,625 m (11,893 ft) above sea level. The surrounding rugged mountain landscape, coupled with the local plant-life, including the characteristic “frailejon”, is known for is its scenic beauty and is a pleasure to experience on horse-back. There are small businesses in the area, and travel guides and food are readily available. Be sure to bring or wear warm clothes, as it can get chilly at this altitude.   • This is an spectacular place. I personally recommend the horse ride to Laguna Negra. It is an unique experience.
