In the heart of the downtown area stands Iglesia de Santa Teresa, a combination of two churches united by a dome. Construction on the Catholic church began in 1877 and was completed in 1881. Built in the neoclassical style, the church went on to be declared a national historic landmark in 1959. The west facing facade is dedicated to Saint Ana while the east facing is dedicated to Saint Teresa. Step inside the grand church for a closer look at its interior ornate decoration, statues, and stained-glass windows.   • I loved the church. The ceiling are amazing and it was difficult to leave. the peace inside is amazing.  more »
  • Another pretty little South American Iglesia. This one was unfortunately closed when I visited and as such it wasn't possible to go inside.  more »
