Towering 75 m (246 ft) above the city, the national monument of Obelisco de Barquisimeto stands as an important landmark for the Venezuelan state of Lara. The obelisk dates back to 1952, originally built in celebration of the city's 400th anniversary. The structure serves as a clock and mirador, built of mainly concrete and steel.   • I wll never walk aorund this area.... looks not safe... They could do some attractions or soemthing similar on the area... but is just a block of concrete.. with several interception around it...  more »
