The Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site, previously known as the Benjamin Harrison Home, was the home of the Twenty-third President of the United States, Benjamin Harrison. It is in the Old Northside Historic District of Indianapolis, Indiana. Harrison had the sixteen-room house with its red brick exterior built in the 1870s. It was from the front porch of the house that Harrison instituted his famous Front Porch Campaign in the 1888 United States Presidential Campaign, often speaking to crowds on the street. In 1896, Harrison renovated the house and added electricity. He died there in a second story bedroom in 1901. Today it is owned by the Arthur Jordan Foundation and operated as a museum to the former president by the Benjamin Harrison Foundation.Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site by using our Indianapolis attractions planning tool.

I look forward to seeing Benjamin Harrison's home and everything I had read led me to Believe that the house was open for tours in fact there was a sign out front about tours. It would have been Better is something had been placed no tours today or even something online. The lady who greeted us said that hopefully we could come back some other time well we don't live there so it may be some other time it just would have been nice to have more warning that there were no tours available on that day. That being said I'm sure it's a great place to visit and you learn a lot I just wish I could have that day but I'm hoping some other time I will be able to and then I'll be able to raise my rating.

My cousin and I love ❤️ living across the street from this wonderful property. We have been apart of many functions in this year of 2019. We have enjoyed the many flower beds of color also this spring and summer seasons. Would like say, to others who come across this historical site in your searches for places to visit, please stop in and enjoy a taste of history from Indiana.
