  • Nice place to stop for a coffee and light meal. It’s kept pretty tidy but the toilets were in need of a tidy up round 3 and I’m pretty sure the lady next to me was out of toilet paper as I heard her come out and get some paper towels. The staff seemed friendly but also caught up in their own conversations as once I was handed my change the girl walked off before I could ask a question. It’s a fair place to stop by though
  • Interesting canal history, very nice cafe and gift shop: Stopped in Fort Augustus on our way South, from visiting Loch Ness. Fort Augustus seems a much nicer place to stop in than Fort William (in our opinion). The Caledonian Canal centre is literally a stone's throw from the canal and shows the history and development of the canal, which is educational for all ages. There's a very nice cafe with lovely food and a gift shop too. The cafe/seating area is nice and modern but not that big and because of where the centre's located, it can get quite busy - so if you're in a hurry, it may be better to eat early, to avoid waiting.
