  • Closed. Don't believe Google on opening times and dates. Check the website. Recommend this fit all national heritage sites. On s plus, the drive out there is pretty good. Some great country side
  • Me and a friend visited Her Majesty The Queen's Official Summer Scottish Residence that is, 'Balmoral Castle' in May 2019. :) Purchased by Queen Victoria in 1848, the Balmoral Castle and Estate has been the home of the UK Royal Family ever since, and is very impressive indeed. :) The whole Estate comprises some 50,000 acres of heather hills, pine forests, estate garden grounds and the lovely River Dee. Today the Royal Family have very carefully managed the Estate to provide the visitor with a very unique experience and insight into Royal Family Life here in Scotland. :) The Estate is approx. 50 miles from Aberdeen and is open daily, from 1st April until 31st July 2019. (10am until 5pm). Parking is free, and Disabled Persons Access is excellent throughout. As a Disabled Visitor, I was allowed to park my car at The Estate Office, right beside The Castle, and paid £10.50 for my ticket. :) I visited the lovely Castle Grounds, Gardens, The Ballroom with the Queen Victoria (200 years since her birth) Exhibition for 2019 and The Cafe and Gift Shop. :) Toilet Facilities Etc are also Excellent. As a final note, it should be said that my visit was really lovely and highly enjoyable and the actual setting of the Balmoral Castle is what really astounded me! Truly beautiful and spectacular Scottish scenery is on display here! :) In my opinion, a visit to Balmoral should not be missed! Enjoy! :)
