One of the region's most important epicenters for Eastern Orthodoxy and a World Heritage Site, Kyivo-Pechers'ka Lavra offers an array of historical fortifications, churches, tombs, and ornate buildings. Wander the grounds of this extensive religious complex, which was originally founded in 1051 as a humble network of underground tunnels and living quarters. The cave system features hallways, relics, chapels, and homes. An on-site museum here houses an extensive collection of religious artifacts and artwork. Join a guided tour to see the catacombs and the tombs of Orthodox saints. Climb to the top of the 97 m (316 ft) bell tower for a panoramic view over Kiev. I would recommend any religious and non religious person to visit this monastery especially the lower caves. The architecture and symbology has a lot of meaning and is very beautiful. The whole place resonates with what is inside of you and you always leave in high spirits. Women, for the caves, remember to bring a scarf to cover your hair and if possible a skirt that goes past your knees (there are kilts if you forget). Also purchase a candle 🕯 (costs pennies) to walk through the dim lit caves.

You should definitely visit here. There is a really nice view of the river in the bell tower. There are some churches which had a very nice architectural structures. The best part is the caves! I was just a tourist in the caves and had difficulty in what to do and how to do. I didn't know that I should have worn long clothes lower than the knees and cover my head. They warned me but hardly understood them because nobody could speak English. You should definitely see how people pray and the dead bodies in the coffins in the cave. It has a creepy atmosphere and I wont forget about this memory!
