Rubaga-Kathedrale, Kampala

#48 of 220 in Things to do in Kampala
Landmark · Hidden Gem · Tourist Spot
Check out the twin towers of Rubaga-Kathedrale, an early 20th-century church dedicated to those who died for refusing to deny their religion. Known as Uganda Martyrs, the Catholic victims have their final resting place here, and feature in the stained-glass windows that decorate the building. Go inside to see the remains of the first African Catholic bishop. If you visit during mass, you'll have the chance to hear the spectacular choir and accompanying musicians. Stroll through the outside grounds and enjoy the view overlooking the city. Plan my trip to Kampala with suggested itineraries provided by Inspirock.
