Madison might be the capital of Wisconsin, but students rather than politicians give the city its identity.
Bring the kids along to Cave of the Mounds and Speed Boats Tours. Step off the beaten path and head to Wollersheim Winery & Distillery and Mr Marvel's Wondertorium. Take a break from Madison with a short trip to H.H. Bennett Studio in Wisconsin Dells, about 1h 05 min away. There's much more to do: explore the engaging exhibits at Madison Children's Museum, browse the collection at Madison Public Library, do a tasting at Fisher King Winery, and see the interesting displays at Matt Kenseth Racing Museum.

The largest city on Canada's eastern coastline, Halifax boast a rich maritime history and occupies a strategically important location with one of the world's greatest natural harbors.
Start off your visit on the 2nd (Thu): examine the collection at Peggy Of The Cove and then visit a coastal fixture at Peggy's Cove Lighthouse. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 3rd (Fri): learn about all things military at Halifax Citadel National Historic Site of Canada, then contemplate the long history of Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, and then take in nature's colorful creations at Halifax Public Gardens.

An hour's drive from Halifax's international airport, Luneburg boasts both colorful buildings and a colorful history, as well as status as a World Heritage Site.
Start off your visit on the 4th (Sat): appreciate the extensive heritage of Lunenburg Historic District, brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Ironworks Distillery, and then take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. John's Anglican Church. On the 5th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take in the local highlights with Walking tours.

Traveling by car from Halifax to Lunenburg takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In July, plan for daily highs up to 69°F, and evening lows to 59°F. On the 5th (Sun), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
