Beirut ©
Sitting on the Mediterranean coast, Beirut, the country's capital and largest city, has plenty of appeal itself, as well as offering a convenient base for exploring the country's other sights and cities.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at American University of Beirut and The Crusader Castle. Step out of Beirut to go to Jitta and see Jeita Grotto, which is approximately 34 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: don't miss a visit to The Corniche, explore the striking landscape at Pigeon Rocks in Raouche, take in the spiritual surroundings of Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque, and take a stroll through Solidere.

If you are flying in from Egypt, the closest major airport is Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport. In October in Beirut, expect temperatures between 33°C during the day and 24°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 4th (Tue) early enough to drive to Tannourine.

Tannourine ©
The municipality of Tannourine--so named because of the area's resemblance to the convex shape of a tannoor oven--consists of a main village and a number of small settlements dotting the surrounding valleys and ravines.
Explore hidden gems such as Bonita Bay and Horsh Ehden Nature Reserve. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Tannourine: Bcharre (The Cedars of God, Qadisha (Kadisha) Valley, & more), Batroun (Ixsir, Mussaylha Fort, & more), Bnachii Lake (in Zgharta) and Temples of Baalbek (in Baalbeck). The adventure continues: identify plant and animal life at Tannourine Cedar Forest Nature Reserve, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Deir Mar Elisha, and steep yourself in history at Hadchit.

To find where to stay, reviews, more things to do, and more tourist information, use the Tannourine itinerary builder.
