Cassis is a commune situated east of Marseille in the department of Bouches-du-Rhône in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southern France.It is a popular tourist destination, famous for its cliffs (falaises) and the sheltered inlets called calanques. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Ile du Gaou and Notre Dame du Mai. Chateau d'Hyeres and Notre Dame de Consolation are good opportunities to explore the local culture. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Cassis: Six-Fours-les-Plages (Var Lamas, Park and Gardens of the Mediterranean, &more), Bandol (Oenotheque des Vins de Bandol & Sentier Littoral) and Hyeres (Beach La Bergerie, Plage La Capte, &more). There's much more to do: get outside with Cape Canaille, get a dose of the wild on Trolib, enjoy the sand and surf at Plage des Oursinieres, and go for a walk through Calanque de Port-Miou.
