There's still lots to do: meet the residents at Isle of Wight Zoo, find something for the whole family at Blackgang Chine, stop by JURASSIC JIM, and contemplate the long history of Osborne House.

Just a short ferry ride from the mainland, the Isle of Wight has been a magnet for family vacationers for many decades. Today, the largest English island draws a young party crowd with its multitude of music festivals, rustic fishermen’s cafes, and eco-friendly campsites. The island’s main appeal remains its mild climate, allowing for a wide range of outdoor activities and watersports. Its coastline attracts families, who come here to enjoy warm beaches, dramatic cliffs, and ever-changing sand dunes. Despite being only 10 km (6 mi) from the mainland city of Portsmouth, the island is a world apart in terms of scenery, culture, and pace of life.
