The temple town of Hampi sits on the site where one of the richest and biggest cities on the planet once stood, with the ruins of the old city protected as a World Heritage Site.
Kick off your visit on the 25th (Fri): don't miss a visit to Dasara Dibba, then don't miss a visit to Elephant Stables, then explore the ancient world of Group of Monuments at Hampi, and finally take in the exciting artwork at Akash Art Gallery & Bookshop. Here are some ideas for day two: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Hazara Rama Temple, then contemplate the long history of Vitthala Temple, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Monkey Temple.

Bengaluru to Hampi is an approximately 5-hour car ride. You can also do a combination of flight, taxi, and train; or do a combination of train and taxi. Traveling from Bengaluru in December, expect somewhat warmer with lows of 25°C in Hampi. You will have some time to spend on the 27th (Sun) before leaving for Badami.

Famous for its cave temples, Badami served as the capital of the Badami Chalukyas from 540 to 757 CE--and this rich history has left plenty of things to do for visitors today.
Start off your visit on the 27th (Sun): Head underground at Badami Cave Temples and then delve into the distant past at Badami Fort.
