Sur is a capital city of Ash Sharqiyah Region, northeastern Oman, on the coast of the Gulf of Oman. Take a break from the city and head to Turtle Beach and Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve. Old Castle Museum and Sur Maritime Museum will appeal to museum buffs. Change things up with these side-trips from Sur: Majlis al Jinn Cave (in Qurayyat), Snake Canyon (in Wadi Bani Awf) and Coastal Trip Tourism (in Al Hadd). A lively provincial capital, Khasab has been termed the "Norway of Arabia," because of its dramatic coastline, where dramatic inlets resemble the fjords of Scandinavia.
Get a sense of the local culture at Festung Cacapo and Bukha Fort. Visiting Swim with Dolphins and Khawr Najd will get you outdoors. It doesn't end there: kick back and relax at Bassa Public Beach and make a trip to Khasab Fort.

Nizwa

Once the capital of the sultanate, Nizwa stands as one of the longest-established urban areas in the country, and has retained its traditional core.
Do your shopping at Nizwa Souk and Nizwa Grand Mall. Nizwa Fort and Bahla Fort are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Explore Nizwa's surroundings by going to Al Hamra (Al Hoota Cave, Misfat al Abreyeen, &more).
