Anne Frank House and Portuguese Synagogue will appeal to history buffs. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Zaanse Schans and Micropia. There's still lots to do: admire the masterpieces at Van Gogh Museum, wander the streets of The Jordaan, appreciate the extensive heritage of Begijnhof, and see the interesting displays at Museum Ons' Lieve Heer op Solder.

Located in the popular holiday region of Ticino, Lugano is the largest Italian-speaking town in Switzerland.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Monte San Giorgio and Chiesa di Santa Maria delle Grazie. Visit Castle of Sasso Corbaro and Centro storico Gandria for their historical value. Step out of Lugano to go to Meride and see Fossil Museum of Monte San Giorgio, which is approximately 32 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: stroll around Parco Civico, kick back and relax at Lido di Lugano, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Chiesa San Carlo Borromeo, and don't miss a visit to Chiesa San Rocco Lugano.

Traveling by combination of flight and bus from Amsterdam to Lugano takes 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and train; or drive. Prepare for somewhat warmer weather when traveling from Amsterdam in June: high temperatures in Lugano hover around 30°C and lows are around 18°C.
