Zagreb boasts a combination of Austro-Hungarian and Socialist architecture, but it is beloved for its outdoor cafe culture.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Upper Town (Gornji Grad) and St. Mark's Church. Visit Mirogoj Cemetery and Archaeological Museum and Andautonia Archaeological Park for their historical value. Step out of Zagreb to go to Varazdin and see Old Castle (Stari Grad), which is approximately 1h 20 min away. There's still lots to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Cathedral of the Assumption, tour the pleasant surroundings at Recreational Sports Center Jarun, see the interesting displays at Zagreb City Museum, and explore the world behind art at Museum of Arts and Crafts.
