Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Ben Nevis and Nevis Range Mountain Resort. Inveraray Jail and West Highland Museum will appeal to museum buffs. Explore Fort William's surroundings by going to Glenfinnan Viaduct (in Glenfinnan), Inveraray Castle (in Inveraray) and The Three Sisters (in Glencoe). The adventure continues: get up close to creatures of the deep with Seafari Adventures, steep yourself in history at Glenfinnan Monument, look for all kinds of wild species at Highland Titles Nature Reserve, and appreciate the views at Glen Coe.
