Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Attractions like Colosseum and Palatine Hill make great kid-friendly stops. Change things up with these side-trips from Rome: Tivoli (Museo Didattico Del Libro Antico, Villa d'Este, &more), Museo Storico dell'Aeronautica Militare (in Vigna di Valle) and Chiesa di San Francesco (in Anguillara Sabazia). There's lots more to do: ponder the design of Trevi Fountain, don't miss a visit to Spanish Steps, get to know the fascinating history of Piazza Navona, and admire the masterpieces at Galleria Borghese.

If you are flying in from Denmark, the closest major aiports are Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport and Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi – Umbria International Airport. In November, daytime highs in Rome are 20°C, while nighttime lows are 9°C.
