Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Change things up with a short trip to Villa d'Este in Tivoli (about 48 minutes away). And it doesn't end there: explore the ancient world of Colosseum, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Pantheon, steep yourself in history at Palatine Hill, and make a trip to St. Peter's Basilica.

For more things to do, other places to visit, where to stay, and more tourist information, read Rome online tour planner.

If you are flying in from United Arab Emirates, the closest major aiports are Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport and Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport. In February, plan for daily highs up to 16°C, and evening lows to 5°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 12th (Thu) to allow enough time to travel back home.
