Braslaw or Braslau is a town in the Vitsebsk Voblast of Belarus, an administrative center of the Braslaw Raion.HistoryThe town was first mentioned in 1065 as a castle in the border of the Polatsk Principality with the Lithuanian tribes. You've now added Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary to your itinerary. Get some historical perspective at Saint Sophia Cathedral and Trinity Church. Get a sense of the local culture at Saint Euphrosyne Monastery and Bogoyavlenskiy Cathedral/ Epiphany Cathedral. Get out of town with these interesting Braslaw side-trips: Pastavy (Tizengauz Palace & Airplane-Monument to Aviators of Pastavy), Polotsk (Peter the Great's House, Belarusian Museum of Typography, &more) and Naroch (National Park Narochansky & Ecological Path Golubyye Ozyora).
