Traveling by car from Sabratah to Ghadamis takes 8.5 hours. Traveling from Sabratah in May, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be much hotter in Ghadamis, with lows of 36°C. You'll set off for Ghat on the 7th (Tue).

Getting from Ghat to Al Bayda by combination of car and flight takes about 14 hours. Other options: drive. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 10th (Fri) to allow time for the car ride to Benghazi.

Benghazi is the second most populous city in Libya and the largest in Cyrenaica.A port on the Mediterranean Sea in the Kingdom of Libya, Benghazi had joint-capital status alongside Tripoli, possibly because the King and the Senussi royal family were associated with Cyrenaica rather than Tripolitania. On the 11th (Sat), take in the spiritual surroundings of Omar Al-Mukhtar Mosque, pause for some serene contemplation at Benghazi Cathedral, and then steep yourself in history at Ptolemais. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 12th (Sun): take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Jebel Akhdar.
