A vibrant university city, Heidelberg is nestled in the picturesque Neckar river valley.
Family-friendly places like Schloss Heidelberg and Philosopher’s Walk will thrill your kids. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Heidelberg: Baden-Baden (MerkurBergbahn, Lichtentaler Allee, &more) and Stuttgart (Wilhelma Zoologisch-Botanischer Garten, Mercedes-Benz Museum, &more). Gengenbach is a town in the district of Ortenau, Baden-Württemberg, Germany and a popular tourist destination on the western edge of the Black Forest with about 11,000 inhabitants. Kids will appreciate attractions like Europa-Park and Schluchsee. Venture out of the city with trips to Dom St. Blasien (in Sankt Blasien), Hasenhorn Coaster Todtnau (in Todtnau) and Triberger Waterfall (in Triberg). And it doesn't end there: contemplate the long history of Freiburger Münster, get in on the family fun at Rodelbahn Gutach, don't miss a visit to Munsterplatz, and explore the activities along Lake Titisee.
