  • I thought this experience was very impactful. I had read Anne Frank’s diary in Middle School, so it was interesting to see the actual place I’d read about. The way it was laid out was very smooth and....  more »

  • Having grown up with the story of Anne Frank, it has always been on the list to do/see. We were a little confused as to whether we were at the right place. We were expecting a period house, but In fact the entrance is through a modern looking building. There is a couple of museum staff outside if you are not certain. Make sure you book online (online is the only way to get tickets) and select a time that suits your holiday. The time you choose makes no difference to the amount of people that will be in the house. As they allocate a set number to the time slots. Bags bigger than a ladies handbag, will have to be put in a cloakroom (inside the museum on the right hand side). Make sure you get the audio tour, which is collected inside prior to gaining access to the house. The audio control is easy to use, just point it at the numbers in the various room you walk through. Sometimes it will start the next audio as you enter a room. The actual door to the house is outside next to the canal. That’s where you can pose for a photo. The audio was informative, and each room was well explained. To actually walk where the families had spent 2 years of their life really resonated with me. It is a must see museum in Amsterdam I glad we went.
  • Excellent and well planned audio tour! Thought provoking experience. Entrance only allowed according to time slot. Crowded but still able to enjoy the tour at own pace and chance to look at all exhibits. Managed to buy ticket online on the day itself. Tips: bring own earphones to use with the audio guide.
