Run by Zurich's flagship university and developed near the edge of the campus, this oasis of greenery breaks away from the traditional design of other central European gardens by growing wild species of plants in an informal layout. Gardeners avoid systematic flowerbeds and allow nearly 9,000 different wild plants to bloom scattered across a total area of over 5.3 hectares (13 acres). Three tropical domes create ideal conditions for growing exotic plants from around the world, providing visitors with a chance to experience diverse natural ecosystems near the heart of a major urban center. Sad I didn't get inside the domes, as they closed at 5pm. Beautiful park in the heat of Zurich! Very easy to reach after a few minutes walk from the nearby tram station. Definitely check it out!

Great place. Beautiful big botanical garden. Since there is no entry fee visiting it is definitely worth it. The greenhouses are astonishing. Great place to walk through and relax. The university is doing a great job taking care of the garden. When you’re there you should definitely donate few franks to them so that they can continue doing their work and keeping the garden beautiful for future generations.
