Faulhorn, Grindelwald

#3 of 6 in Nature in Grindelwald
Mountain · Hidden Gem · Nature / Park
Hike to the rounded peak of Faulhorn and admire the rugged scenery of the snowcapped Bernese Alps. Several trails wind their way to the 2,681 m (8,796 ft) summit. At the top, take in sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and Lake Thurne below. Stop in the well-known hotel at the summit, where you can reward yourself with a fortifying meal. The ascent requires a decent level of fitness, but the well-preserved trail won't present any great challenge to experienced hikers. • Great hike, coming from Schynige Platte you encounter some wonderful vistas whilst traversing the sometimes rocky paths
  • Climbing up there made me tried like hell. Climbing down even more dangerous because all roads covered in snow. But there’s no doubt the view high up is magnificently beautiful.
