Ride on a double-track railway through the underground tunnels of Postojna Cave and see colorful rock formations, as well as the 100 species that make the caves their home. One of the largest caves in the extensive karst plateau features 21 km (13 mi) of passages, galleries, and chambers illuminated by electric lighting. A historical train takes you to large halls adorned with chandelier-like stalactites and limestone "sculptures," such as "the brilliant," a shiny white limestone formation. Meet the olm, a salamander popularly called the dragon's offspring or the human fish. Archduke Ferdinand I was the first to officially visit the cave in 1819, but several writings on the cave walls date all the way back to the 13th century. Note that audioguides are available in a range of languages. Discover how to plan a Postojna trip in just a few steps with Inspirock's itinerary builder.

One of the best place to visit in Slovenia. Equally enjoyable for both children and adults. You can purchase tickets online easily and faster. Best experience in lifetime. Also you can buy souvenir items which are available at a reasonable price. Cave system with rail access is just wonderful. Guided tour is really informative and you have it in different languages too. Overall it was the best experience.
Central Europe's most wonderful cave system, which is located in a gorgeous area in Slovenia. It is an absolute gem, a must see phenomenon. Pro tip: if you want to avoid waiting in the queue for an hour, you can save money and time, if you pre-buy your ticket online on the website of Postojna Cave via card. They have mixed tickets and passes, with you can spare some money.
