Trip Planner: Europe / Poland / Southern Poland / Lesser Poland Province / Krakow / Corpus Christi Church (Kosciol Bozego Ciala)
If you wish to view impressive Gothic and Baroque architecture in Krakow, plan a visit to Corpus Christi Church (Kosciol Bozego Ciala), founded by King Casimir III the Great in 1335. This structure was built in the Gothic style between 1340 and the mid-1400s as a monastery and church, which explains its massive size. The interior boasts a mixture of Polish Gothic and Polish Baroque styles, with a sprinkling of Baroque elements from the 1700s. The church also contains the tomb of Baroque artist Bartolommeo Berrecci. Corpus Christi Church (Kosciol Bozego Ciala) reviews
Beautiful old church in the heart of Kazimierz.Absolutely amazing inside.Worth taking a break while in Kazimierz and go inside more »
Mix of 2 different architect, the dark Corpus Christi church can be discovered/visited for free. Interesting to see, explanation of it history with a guide is the best more »
Beautiful church that stands in the main square in Krakow. In the hour a bugler plays from a window in the church tower, in addition to the bells. Just a shame that some tourists ignore the (pictorial) requests not to take photos inside the church. Rude!
Let me start by saying that I am not a religious person but still like to visit religious buildings from time to time to keep an open mind as well as just see the different structures and designs. This basilika is quite beautiful inside with many good paintings and some statues in as well. I think religious persons will love it.
