Trip Planner: Europe / Italy / Friuli Venezia Giulia / Province of Trieste / Trieste / Museo Revoltella
Part baronial mansion, part art gallery, Museo Revoltella is home mostly to 19th-century paintings and sculptures. This historic neo-Renaissance building was home to Baron Pasquale Revoltella, and its three floors still express the elegance and wealth of its owner. Acquired by the city of Trieste following the baron's death in 1872, the museum was expanded to the adjacent buildings in order to offer additional exhibition spaces. Start by exploring the luxurious residence's many rooms and all the works, furniture, and books they contained. Then, move on to the modern exhibits to see the approximately 350 paintings and sculptures on display. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Trieste holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Museo Revoltella and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

Gives a very nice overview of painters of whom many were born in Trieste. Interesting to visit the house of the previous builder and owner Mr. Revoltella
A beautiful museum. First three floors are a palace, then 4th, 5th and 6th floor turned into a modern art museum. A large collection of art pieces, even contemporary art. They have a roof top cafe, and it was so nice to see the harbor view. Totally worth to visit. One sad thing was the museum shop. They should develop more souvenir products.
