The Villa of Livia (Latin: Ad Gallinas Albas) is an ancient Roman villa at Prima Porta, 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) north of Rome along the Via Flaminia. It was probably part of Livia Drusilla's dowry she brought when she married the emperor Augustus, her second husband, in 39 BC. It was her sumptuous country residence complementing her house on the Palatine Hill in Rome.

Remarkable frescoes of garden views were found which have since been removed to the Palazzo Massimo museum in Rome.

  • Interesting to see. Is a pity that is not more presented with some 3 D pictures how villa look like at that time.  more »
  • Too bad it's so hard to find, no road signs if you are coming from Rome on the Flaminia. At the end, you'll see few nice mosaics, ruins, etc. No worth the trip from Rome.  more »

  • Beautiful as a park, the remains of the villa with the colorful frescoes and mosaics are very unique, interesting the antiquarium. Well maintained, within the large park of Veio, it really is a place where you breathe good air and history.

  • Despite the scarcity of inventories what fascinates is the feeling of being immersed in the history of the world. Here you sleep and the Augustemperor Octavian lived in this room. Unfortunately, what is left is not much apart from the wonderful mosaics of the floors
