Named for the founder of the Roman Empire and its first emperor, Forum of Augustus stands as an example of imperial forum architecture in the heart of the former empire. Construction of the forum, built to honor Mars and to carry out legal proceedings, began around 20 BCE. The millennia-old building remains today as ruins, including several well-preserved columns. With little information posted to explain the significance of the building, make sure to do your research or hire a tour guide to gain the full sightseeing experience. The most amazing thing to do in Rome! Take the time, go to buy the tickets there. Great way to really picture what the ruins looked like in ancient times. Video, sound. Astounding

did the even light show. really informative, worth the ticket price and a good start to getting the down low on the start of the empire. one thing like all Italian museum visits the language used is overly clunky, official and incomprehensible but still good.
