Admire the beauty of Chiesa di Sant'Agnese in Agone, a 17th-century Baroque church built on the exact location where St. Agnes was martyred. Although smaller in comparison to other churches in the area, it leaves just as strong an impression, with a main altar and another six around the dome dedicated to martyrs, including full-scale statues depicting the circumstances of their deaths. Visit the side church to view the preserved skull of St. Agnes. Many marble details and frescos accentuate the church's beauty, and if you're lucky, you could catch a choir performance. Alternatively, buy a ticket to listen to a concert and fully appreciate the building's excellent acoustics. • Stunning baroque church off the Piazza Navona. Sumptuously decorated with every inch painted and marbled it appears. Contains the skull of St Agnes - very small! Still a working church and holy place of course, so respect needed. A must if you are in the Piazza already. Cool in summer too!
  • Quite a spectacular church. The sign says "No photos", but this is not enforced. A tremendous location adjacent to Piazza Navona.
