  • Impressive but rather academic 19th century interior. The old church fell down, and the new one was a devotional exercise on the part of someone with money and a devotion to the Immaculate Conception (part of the full dedication). It's not that Trastevere was ever short of churches.
  • St. John of Mauve is a church located in the homonymous square and dates back to the XII century. The original church, after a long period of decay, was demolished and rebuilt in the middle of 1800, by the noble family of Grazioli. The façade is tripartite by four pilasters, in the central part there is an imposing door and above a bas-relief, which represents "the Virgin Mary assumed in Heaven with Angels and among the Saints John the Baptist with an eagle and John the Evangelist With a lamb. On the sides there are two windows with Railends with above as many bas-reliefs with crest and Frie representing the two saints an eagle and a lamb. Above the architrave is a triangular pediment, at the centre of which is the coat of arms of the Grazioli (which has an eagle, a sheathe with ears of wheat and a goat). The interior comes with a Greek cross plant. The dome is simple and is special because it is provided at the top end of a glass skylight. Inside there are several paintings of the EIGHTEENTH and NINETEENTH centuries, the altarpiece depicts the Virgin Mary with the infant Jesus in her arms between the Saints John the Evangelist and John the Baptist. From 1 August 2004 the church was entrusted to the community of Catholic Albanians in Italy.
