Loved this place and this family. Family owned and operated. I can't quite remember what the son told us, but I believe the product is fired one one more time than terracotta, making it harder than Terracotta. He actually banged a dish on another dish to show it would not chip or break so easily. It is a little pricey, but you have one of a kind quality pieces. I picked, my dishes, my pattern and my color and it was made to my specifications. It is also signed and dated on the back. It was delivered in a box that was shot with some sort of liquid foam that hardened. A little hard to get the pieces out, but definitely guarantees its arriving in one piece. (Italy to USA NY)
