One of the largest cemeteries in Europe, Cimitero Monumentale di Staglieno sprawls across a hillside and contains several important sculptures and graves. Among some of the notables buried here are Oscar Wilde's wife Constance Lloyd, Fabrizio De André, Ferruccio Parri, Giuseppe Mazzini, and Nino Bixio. You can find maps at the visitor’s center to navigate the area more easily, and booklets are also available to explain the statues and graves.   • Absolutely amazing sculptures! The best I've ever seen yet (thanks ViasatHistory short series :) Some statues do look like they are alive (marble eye lashes, why not?). Indeed, some pieces could've been kept in better condition, yet it's an old and still functional cemetery with all burials and repairs going on. Free parking near the place. We've entered for free, though some say there's admittance fee.
  • Very impressive. Really fill of time death and glory. Maybie spend 3 -4 hr.s is enough... quite big space to see and look.
