Discover panoramic views over Florence at Giardino Bardini, a little-known Renaissance garden only recently opened to the public. In this hillside oasis, you'll find myriad statuary, wild birds, and a coffeehouse with strong Italian coffee and views of the red-roofed city and hills beyond. Sit beside one of the tree-shaded fountains, then stroll through the wisteria-canopied walkways. There's also a museum next door where you can catch interesting exhibits and concerts. Could have been better for the money you have to pay to enter - 5 euro per person. Although the grass was freshly cut, the garden itself looks a bit abandoned. It has a nice view on the steps, but you don't have direct access to them since it's entrance is locked. Still don't understand why you have to pay to see this place, there are many other more beautiful gardens with free entrance.

A hidden treasure in busy Florence. You can roam through the garden easily (takes about 1 hour). There is a little restaurant at the summit as well as a Florentine mansion with great views of the city
