A nice place for a walk or picnic, Villa Lante features huge fountains, grottos, and ancient statues surrounded by shaded walkways and geometric shrub gardens. Composed of two Mannerist-style buildings, the villa itself dates back to the 16th century. The ducal family lived here until it was severely damaged in World War II. Dr. Angelo Cantoni then acquired and restored it. The garden is part of the Grandi Giardini Italiani, a garden association that includes many of Italy's historic gardens.
