This small village with a huge heritage of some 125 stone temples dating from the 5th century BC shows in the best possible way the evolution of early Indian architecture before it got canonized. This ancient city, the first capital of the early Chalukyas, is home to hundreds of beautifully carved temples some of which date back to the 5th and 6th century, most of them Hindu but also some Buddhist and Jain.
