Panch Mahal - Fatehpur Sikri
Admire the incredible design of the five-floored palace at Panch Mahal - Fatehpur Sikri. The palace is also referred to as "Badgir" or "wind tower" thanks to its design, which uses hundreds of columns to alleviate heat by increasing air flow. The palace has 176 columns in total, of which 84 stand on the ground level supporting the structure above, with certain design elements reflect those of nearby Buddhist temples. Explore the palace, which offers fantastic views of the fort that sits to its left, providing ideal photo opportunities. Wander around at your own pace, or hire a guide to learn more about the rich history of the site. This is the spot on Fatehpur Sikri which you come to this city for. An aesthetically designed, lovely platform shaped edifice which is a sight for sore eyes. The building itself is a series of pillared halls, with intricate lattice work on the parapets. The topmost level sits like a gem on this monument. Whoever designed it, must have had very good tastes, and, also must really have had no concept of privacy (it's open from all sides). One wonders how did the kings and the queens of yore had any privacy here. But then they were kings!
