Featuring a foundation made of greenheart wood, this is one of two buildings in Georgetown featuring a dome. Go to the parliamentary chamber, located in the east wing of the building, to observe mahogany-covered walls and greenheart floors, an elaborately carved speaker's chair, and paintings of Guyana's first president.     The maybe grandest building in Georgetown and one of its best kept can usually not be visited, just admired from outside, from behind a tall iron fence. There is an information board about it, as is.....  more »

    Interesting It was worth going into the garden to see this building close up. There were several canons in the garden. The building has a Neoclassical style.  more »
