Located in the boiler room of the Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex, Red Dot Design Museum combines contemporary art with industrial design. The building itself was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001. It represents the height of the German industry, but its factory floor, corridors, and assembly rooms are now open to the public. The attraction's exhibit is designed as a conceptual gallery inside the large complex, but its presence there also represents the German people's industriousness in the world of design, not just manufacturing. A visit to Red Dot Design Museum represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Essen online route planner to plot your vacation.

On our visit to Singapore, we paid a visit to this museum. There were so many interesting things to see. The staff were very kind and informative as well. If you are interested in technology and human science, I highly recommend to check this place out.
Much bigger than we expected! Essentially it's an exhibit of all the winners of the Red Dot Design Award from the current year, without a lot of background information. There are some space for special exhibits too. Beautiful industrial building.
