Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord, once an old, abandoned coal and steel production plant, is now a public park. Woven together by walkways and waterways that are former railway and sewer systems, the ironworks now hosts cultural and corporate functions. You can delve into an old gasometer that now serves as Europe's biggest manmade diving center. Walk through alpine climbing gardens that have been created in ore storage bunkers, or venture on the high ropes course that was once a casting house. For views of the meadows and waterways of the park, climb the extinguished blast furnace--now a viewing tower. Spend some time in the middle of the former steel mill, which has been made into a piazza, or rent a bike to explore the site. Guided tours are available, or you can explore on your own. Children may enjoy the huge tube slide going through two ore bunkers, and the open hall for skating and mountain biking. • A wonderful experience, an unique place. You can freely wonder in every part of this huge steel factory. Even the restaurant is great.  more »

  • It's quite big and has a lot of greenery. Quite a few fun activities. Would be good for family with kids! The climbing walls look very much fun 😃😃😃
  • Great place to climb. We went on a very sunny day and I was relieved to find plenty of routes in the shade. I was also happy with the range of routes regarding character and difficulty. A big plus for me as a climber are the parking lot, public toilets and the restaurant.
