Burg Hohenzollern, Bisingen

4.4
#6 of 393 in Historic Sites in Baden-Wurttemberg
Must see · Castle · Tourist Spot
Burg Hohenzollern is home to a wealth of Prussian artifacts--including a letter from U.S. President George Washington thanking Baron von Steuben for his service in the American Revolutionary War. It's also the ancestral seat of the Hohenzollern family, who became German Emperors. The castle complex, chapels, and cellars can be explored independently. Look for the crown of Wilhelm II, plus King Frederick the Great's personal items. To see the interior rooms, you must take a guided tour (most are in German). Check the website for more information about English tours. Plan to visit Burg Hohenzollern during your Bisingen vacation using our convenient Bisingen online journey planner.

  • What an incredible place and our tour guide I believe the gentleman's name was Thomas had this uncanny ability to somehow connect the audience with the history of the royals. My son and I absolutely enjoyed and appreciated the connection with George Washington. Loved the tour Will definitely return if we can.
  • A very nice castle go visit. It looks like exactly what you'd expect from a German castle. There are yours inside the castle building that you can take, in German and in English. The views are also great, since the castle is pretty high up on the mountains. You can also have a snack there, with one cafe offering good German food. Overall, I'd advise for visiting the place!
