Trip Planner: Europe / France / Normandy / Basse-Normandie / Calvados / Courseulles-sur-Mer / Juno Beach Centre
Juno Beach Centre presents Canada’s role in military operations and the war effort on the home front in World War II. Film, audio, and displays bring pre-war and wartime Canada alive, as well as cover the fighting experiences. At the front of the center, Juno Park has walkways with interpretation panels, a preserved German bunker, and a path leading to the beach. There is little development here, so nothing interrupts your contemplation of beach and ocean. Imagine the sands littered with mines-on-sticks, spiky metal “hedgehogs,” barbed wire, and other barbarisms intended to destroy landing craft and the 14,000 Canadian soldiers that fought in this area. Arrange to visit Juno Beach Centre and other attractions in Courseulles-sur-Mer using our Courseulles-sur-Mer day trip website.

Juno Beach Centre reviews
Went with the family, and even with COVID 19 restrictions, it was still fun. Took the additional bunker tour, and we were very happy with it. Should be part of a complete Normandy tour ... each of... more »
Good tour of the area with lots of bunkers and outposts excavated and redone. The museum was OK - seemed like it was trying too hard to be inclusive and politically correct with a lot of exhibits... more »
Every single Canadian needs to go and check out the Juno Beach centre. The staff are so knowledgable and helpful. They are all students from Canada and you can see the pride they have in Canada as there guide you through the centre and around the grounds. You'll definitely walk away as a proud Canadian.
Excellent museum honoring Canadian forces that fought and died in Normandy. Staff are Canadian and are super friendly (they’re Canadian!). My son and I really enjoyed it. I met a nice Canadian on a short business visit to the area at the American Cemetery at Omaha. He mentioned he had limited time and I emphasized he visit here as all Canadians should!
