Looming above the left bank of the Vltava River, Prague Castle claims status as the largest castle complex in the world. Dating back to the ninth century, the imposing structure occupies nearly 70,000 sq m (753,000 sq ft), its grounds so big they include four churches and four palaces, as well as five different gardens. Once the seat of power for kings of Bohemia and Holy Roman emperors, the castle now serves as the official residence of the country's president. The structure has undergone four major reconstructions since the 12th century, and its blend of architectural styles earned it a spot on the World Heritage List. Prague Castle (Pražský hrad) is the most spectacular place in Prague. The castle is among the most visited tourist attractions in Prague attracting over 1.8 million visitors annually. It's a massive expanse with incredible architecture, historical buildings, monuments and expansive grounds that provide a few good view of the city. According to the Guinness Book of Records, Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle in the world, occupying an area of almost 70,000 square metres (750,000 square feet), at about 570 metres (1,870 feet) in length and an average of about 130 metres (430 feet) wide. You need to pay some amount of money, but tickets to visit the museum as it is not free.... but some of museums is free entrance. It is advised one comes early in the morning as there will be less tourists. You can use public transportation to get here. Its also very easy to locate. Prague Castle is the location in the second level of Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb video game. It is also mentioned in the video game Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag as a hidden file found in a hacked computer at Abstergo Entertainment. This castle is really beautiful, you MUST visit!!!!!

The most spectacular place in Prague 1. The line is quite long, but the Prague castle and the buildings inside definitely worth the wait. 2. The St Vitus Cathedral is spectacular from the outside and inside. The paintings, the architecture style of the church is unique and gorgeous. Love the stain glasses, love everything about the cathedral. 3. You can also choose to visit the tower of St. Vitus Cathedral. There are no elevators so it would be quite tiring walking hundreds of steps up. But I can promise you every steps worth it when you see the spectacular scenery from the top, overlooking the Charles Bridge, old town etc. 4. Apart from the church, the Castle offers a very beautiful scenery and you can definitely take brilliant pictures. 5. There are also Christmas market in the Prague castle, so you can grab some souvenirs or snacks up there in case you are very hungry. (Though the things are more expensive comparing to other places)
