Step into the world of medieval Prague with a stroll across pedestrian-friendly Charles Bridge. Completed in 1402, the bridge replaced an older structure and became a major commercial link between eastern and western Europe. For nearly four centuries, this Gothic structure was also the only connection between the city's old town and the growing residential neighborhoods on the other side of the Vltava River. The bridge rests on 16 arches and spans 621 m (2,037 ft), featuring a continuous alley of 30 statues depicting saints venerated at the turn of the 18th century, when they became the structure's main decorative elements. Charles Bridge Reviews
Pictures! Pictures! Pictures. The pictures from this place are great. All times of the year it is busy so be aware of your surroundings. The little stalls on the bridge sell funky stuff and it’s cool.... more »
An iconic city landmark that is a must see. Musicians and artists can be found and you can google a list of all the statues. My favorite is the priest who is the hero of Prague (you will see him... more »
You absolutely can't leave Prague without a stroll down Charles bridge. The sculptures and statues are out of this world, as is the scenery, the churches and other buildings in the distance. Stop by to admire the various caricature and portrait artists at work. Get your own portrait done for an unbelievably low price by a talented artist. Take home a memory for life. Remember, most of the painters and other artists come down a lineage of highly skilled sculptors and artists who built the most beautiful churches and buildings that are now celebrated world heritage sites. Listen to the soulful melodies of a violinist or a full fledged brass band belting out beautiful music. Love Prague. 💗💗💗🥰
My favourite spot in Prague. It's beautiful ON the bridge, but it's also beautiful everywhere around with a view TO the bridge. I really enjoy the atmosphere there with the musicians although there are always(!) many people. It's really crowded, but I guess most of the people love it there as much as myself.
