The cathedral dates back to 1298, though the first boulder was laid in 1402. Over a period of more than a century, this simple stone church gradually received statues of Adam and Eve, the ceiling was adorned with angelic figures, and the facade transformed into a lavish piece of art.   • Most beautiful cathedral on this side of Adriatic. You just need to take a quick look and will be amazed. It is build completely of stone which was real challenge indeed. It was not easy for small towns to build such cathedrals and it was under constructions for almost one hundred years but result is fascinating. If looking from modern perspective some of the funds should have been diverted for hospital, school and libraries but then it was very important to have big cathedral, at least bigger then your neighbors!
  • A beautiful old town full of amazing architecture and lots of stairs to get to St Michael's Castle. But I enjoyed it lots. There are also lots of restaurants and bars with sea view.
