Wild Sun Rescue Center, Montezuma

#7 of 8 in Parks in Montezuma
Nature / Park · Hidden Gem · Wildlife Area
Wild Sun Rescue Center, is a non-profit association located on the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica right on the border of the Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve (the first protected area and National Park in Costa Rica).

The surrounding region provides refuge to a large variety of animals, but sadly these animals are exposed to countless threats, ranging from electrocution (which mostly affects monkeys), illegal trade and hunting, vehicles, habitat loss and the decrease in resources which are caused primarily due to human settlement.

Wild Sun Rescue Center works to rescue, rehabilitate and release injured and/or orphaned mammals, reptiles and birds and also to reintroduce species that have already become extinct in our area of Costa Rica.

We need your help in order to keep this rescue center working, and give the animals the care which they deserve.

Either through personal donation, fund raising, or volunteer work, any kind of assistance is needed and appreciated.

Please look into our website for more information about volunteering and the conservation of Costa Rican wildlifehttp://wildsunrescue.com/

  • Glad to visit this rescue center and get insights about the animals they rescue and the way they work. Really amazing place. They offer free tours every Sunday and Wednesday morning at around 9. Tour is all about education about animals and reasons why they end up in the center.
  • They do a stupendous job of helping injured and orphaned wildlife. It's a huge effort done with the greatest of respect for the animals.
