The seat of a Roman Catholic archdiocese, The Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Sebastian boasts a celebrated modern design inspired by Mayan pyramids. Dedicated to the city's patron saint, the cathedral features four long strips of colorful stained glass windows, spanning 64 m (210 ft) from the floor to the illuminated cross on the ceiling. The building's construction started in the mid-1960s and took 15 years to complete.
