A long stretch of warm sand, Praia de Ipanema is divided into segments by posts ("postos," as they’re known locally), which mark diverse lifestyles and interests of beachgoers from around the world. Posto 9 attracts visitors intent on spending the day leisurely relaxing on the sand, while Posto 10 draws sports lovers with ongoing volleyball, soccer, and footvolley games. Food kiosks stay open all day long, with beer and the traditional cachaça sold right on the water’s edge. Constant swells keep the water clean all year round, with a frequent strong undertow and oversized waves. Always be careful on this beach, and swim only where the locals do. Remember that on the weekends the sand does get very crowded, so go early to stake a good spot. Praia de Ipanema reviews
Ipanema beach is much more beautiful, quiet and safe than Copacabana. The neighborhood is full of beautiful places to walk, eat or have a drink. more »
We had wanted to see the myth of Ipanéma and copacabanna beach, we had been able to see the very beautiful girls and the very beautiful Brazilian boys, so muscular and so tanned more »
Phenomenal location, right on Praia Ipanema, with a staff even nicer that made me come back for a second stay a few days later. Room was nice and clean, and the floor to ceiling windows made the view really nice. The view upstairs by the pool was breathtaking too, and Gabriel’s presence there made it even more entertaining as he was always very kind and up to have a great conversation.
This hotel is awesome! The staff are nice and extremely accommodating. The view and location of the hotel is pretty convenient. A lot of shops and restaurants that are walking distance. I would definitely stay here again!
